In December 2014, Woodside Petroleum agreed to purchase Apache Corporation’s interests in the Wheatstone and Balnaves projects for $US2.82 billion ($A3.71 billion).
In April 2015, Macquarie Capital and Brookfield Asset Management agreed to buy Apache Corporation's Australian oil and gas operations for $US2.1 billion ($A2.7 billion), with the deal underpinned by a long-term gas sale agreement with Alcoa.
Among its remaining assets is a 49% stake in Yara Pilbara Holdings which owns the Burrup liquid ammonia plant.
