Gail Bowman has a lifelong career in local and state government, and is a passionate advocate for the community. She works closely with the local council to get the best outcomes for its community, customers, residents, ratepayers and business owners.
Ms Bowman joined the City of Melville in July 2022 as director of community development. She became acting chief executive in November 2022 and was formally appointed the City's first ever female CEO in November 2023. Prior to that, Ms Bowman spent over 24 years at the City of Cockburn where she held various roles across family support services, social services, human services, community development, strategy and governance.
