Perth-based Marine safety equipment developer Mobilarm has signed a $1.8 million rental contract for the supply of the new sMRT V100 beacon and sMRT life jacket to the international fleet of geoscience organisation Polarcus DMCC.
The rental contract has been secured for a five-year term and was signed through Mobilarm’s subsidiary, Marine Rescue Technologies.
Additionally, Mobilarm said Polarcus would be deploying its portable sMRT Station throughout its fleet to efficiency in search and rescue operations.
The sMRT Station purchase was valued at over $276,000.
“Polarcus has an incredibly safety conscious culture and our team worked closely with Polarcus to evaluate and configure a best of breed safety solution,” MRT chief executive officer Ken Gaunt said.
“Our rental program is a perfect solution for customers who want a turnkey solution in a flexible and structured offering.”
In 2011, Mobilarm signed a contract with the Fire and Emergency Services Authority for the provision of 218 of its Crewsafe V100 locating devices.
It came shortly after it had signed a deal with the Dutch Navy, it’s first ever production order, for the provision of 90 of its Crewsafe V200 emergency beacons.
Mobilarm shares last traded at 3.9 cents per share at 2:15pm.
