Former Tourism Western Australia chief executive Richard Muirhead has been appointed chair of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, replacing inaugural chair Eric Lumsden who was in the role for one year.
Planning Minister John Day today also announced today that former Ernst & Young managing partner and current Atlas Iron director Jeff Dowling would take on the role of deputy chairperson, while financial planner Nick Bruining would also join the board.
“The MRA has responsibility for delivering a number of the State’s major redevelopment projects - including Elizabeth Quay, Perth City Link and Riverside - which will ensure our city can adequately meet the needs of a growing population,” Mr Day said.
“As a former chief executive officer of two state government agencies and the state director of CHOGM in 2011, Mr Muirhead has extensive business, development and investment experience to bring to his position as chairperson of the MRA board.”
Mr Day paid tribute to the outgoing board members for their contribution to the MRA and the former Subiaco and Midland redevelopment authorities.
