King River Resources has continued its winning run with gold exploration at the company’s Tennant Creek project in the NT with rock chip samples up to 49.5 grams per tonne gold found near its Kurundi prospect.
The company says the high-grade surface results have highlighted additional drill targets at the site.
Recent RC drilling at Kurundi recorded highlights of a 7m intercept going 6.35 grams per tonne gold from 25m including a 2m hit recording 21.3 g/t with another 1m intersection at an impressive 35.26 g/t gold.
King River has also recorded positive copper and silver results after analysis of assays from its recent RC drill program at the prospect.
Highlights included a 3m hit recording 8.4 per cent copper from 31m including a 1m section at 21.81 per cent copper whilst the same hole also showed a 4m intercept going 49.5 g/t silver from 30m including 1m at 176 g/t.
The high-grade rock chip samples were collected at the company’s Tarragans, Millers and Priesters prospects that form parts of the larger Kurundi Main prospect.
Priesters is an area of extensive quartz vein exposure where historical digging has taken place.
The sample highlights of 49.5 and 12.97 g/t gold were taken from the western edge of the quartz exposure at Priesters.
Tarragans is immediately southeast of the Kurinelli Gold field and 30km southeast of the Kurundi Main prospect.
King River says gold mineralisation at Tarragans is within sandstone beds and characterised by quartz veins, fault zones and iron alteration.
Numerous historical workings and prospector diggings throughout the area report significant nugget discoveries.
Rock chip samples at Tarragans showed results of 9.28 and 5.72 g/t gold.
In addition to the recent copper and silver results, the company has also received back all assays from its 34-hole RC campaign at Kurundi Main where rock chip samples returned multiple results between 10 and 17g/t gold along a previously undrilled 2km trend.
The high-grade results feature one 7m section going 6.35g/t gold from 25m, including 2m at 21.3g/t with 1m grading 35.26g/t gold.
Another highlight was a 6m intercept going 4.77g/t gold, including 3m running 9.28g/t with 1m at 14.76g/t gold, whilst a nearby 5m intersection recorded 3.84g/t from 22m including 2m at 7.82g/t with 1m grading 9.99g/t gold.
Further drilling is being planned to investigate extensions to the main zone, test north and south of the main workings in addition to depth extensions.
King River holds about 7900 square kilometres across 16 tenements in the Northern Territory.
